Deb Connery

Deb Connery, L.M.F.T.,

I have over 30 years of varied mental health experiences which includes work with anxiety, depression, addictions, and abuse as well as co-existing medical issues. I work with couples, families and individuals. I believe we all live in relationships which can be both challenging and supportive. The effort to facilitate the healing of these relationships (including one’s relationship with oneself), is my principle focus of therapy, whether it means working individually or conjointly. Emotional growth comes from understanding oneself in order to create fulfilling, stable relationships.

In our sessions, my concerted effort is to listed to each individual to truly understand their unique needs. Therapy becomes a collaborative process. Many medical issues have origins in one’s emotional life, making healing a complex process. My background is well suited to addressing these issues and helping you find solutions. Some of my areas of expertise include:

  • Sexual Addictions
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Depression and anxiety disorder
  • Personality Disorders*
  • Substance Addictions*
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • Diagnosis of co-occurring Disorders
  • Currently training in hypnotherapy

Deb focuses a lot on relational therapy with a wide range of client needs. She uses her extensive medical and therapy experience to bring an effective, holistic approach to bear for client healing. Whether with adolescent or adult clients, Deb often utilizes a mixture of family and individual-focused treatment modalities together. She is therapist with two groups for group therapy (traditional psychotherapy) with those needing support of personal development and guidance weekly. The Relapse Prevention group meets every other week for those with substance abuse issues. Deb cites her supportive collaboration with administrative and medical staff for a bolstering of her client's healing. Her philosophy of care is "A compassionate presence of our 'selves' with our clients is the most critical factor leading to [clients’] ability to change".
